Probably the biggest complaint I have heard about Nintendo is that they never ever get any even half-decent RPG's on their systems. Well, now people can stop complaining, and pick up Golden Sun at their nearest retailers. Golden Sun is the BEST RPG on a Nintendo System since Chrono Trigger. (Quest 64 doesn't even qualify as an RPG in my book...) The Game starts up and you see An Amazing scrolling picture of a Mountain. And your like, "Ok, so it has good graphics. So what." So you start a game, and you think, "Ok, so it has a good story too." And as you progress through the game, you realize that the gameplay is amazing. And then, it hits you. Everything in this game is good!! You start off the game as Isaac who lives on a mountain. Something goes wrong and you end up fighting some bad guys, and losing. The story comes back a few years later, and you and your friend Garet decide to go up the mountain that started all this trouble a few years ago. You end up finding out about magical stones, and are sent on a quest to retrieve them all. Now, on to the gameplay. You battle in a very beautiful environment that changes depending on where you are in the game. You can choose attack, to use a physical attack against an enemy, you can use Psynergy to cast spells on people, you can use your Djinni to attack people, or you can Summon your Djinni that are on Standby. Every enemy is beautifully animated, except for a few bosses that are very un-beautifully animated... But besides that the Graphics are awesome. Now, I know you must be thinking, what are Djinni?? Djinni are little creatures you get to be on your team that will boost your stats of your team, allow them to learn better spells, and allow them to unleash Mighty Summons on their enemies. Some you automatically get, but most you will have to search and find. Other than the main game (which I don't want to talk about much for fear of ruining the story), you can choose battle, where you battle random monsters/bosses you have encountered along your quest. It keeps track of your highest record, and you can even battle a friend if he has a game and a Game Boy Advance, and you also need a cord too. This game has quickly made it onto my list of one of the best games ever made, and not just me, just about everyone likes this game. The story kind of stops in the middle however, leaving room for a sequel. I am very much looking forward to this sequel, but until then I cannot completely put it up at the top of my list along with Chrono Trigger and the Final Fantasy Games. Go, get this game, and play your heart and sould out. You will not be disappointed. I give this game a 9 out of 10, but let me explain myself first. I was disappointed in the graphics on some of the Big Bosses, because they were kind of fuzzy. I was also disappointed in the fact that if you kill an enemy, and another in your party was sent to attack them, they just defend. I would have hoped that it would make you attack the next enemy. These are just minor things, but still one of the best games I have ever played. As you can see, this is my longest review yet. It deserves no less. 9/10
